In 2008 Bart set off on a journey that would take him to Nairobi, Kenya where he went to the remote village of Wikondiek. Bart’s mission and purpose in going to Kenya was to help high school students gain confidence and learn how to use their voices to speak about their hopes and their dreams… and to learn the skill of how to communicate effectively with others about their extraordinary talents. The Let Your Life Speak Foundation has its roots in Kenya!

The Let Your Life Speak Foundation includes a National Youth Speak Program targeted at innovative high schools throughout the U.S. Bart has already trained hundreds of youth from high schools, church and youth groups, juvenile justice systems and academies.

In May 2019, Bart will host the First Annual National Youth Speak Competition. Students from three high schools will participate in the competition where Bart will award three college scholarships.

If you are interested in having Bart train at your high school please reach out to us.

Tina Bennett
25-Year Veteran Teacher, Santa Maria, CA High School Saints

As a veteran teacher of 25 years, there is nothing that brings me greater joy than to see the light come on for a student. To help them reach that point of understanding. I am eternally grateful to Bart for giving my students their voice. He has transformed their lives, often times from one of seemingly unsurmountable odds to one of confidence and possibilities. He has empowered them to follow their purpose. And I have no doubt that these young people will go out and impact the world around them.

Freddie B. Pough
Director, South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice

Bart Queen’s communication skills program is phenomenal. I was impressed with the transformation in our students from just a few days of training. Bart inspired our students to find their voice and speak with confidence. The skills he teaches are ones our students can use daily and build on throughout their lives. His program was worth its weight in gold in the impact it had on our students.

Susan Kahler
Triangle Math and Science Academy Parent, Bart Queen Speaker Boot Camp Graduate

Bart’s program provides students with the skills to craft a presentation that is coherent and engaging. Students also learn how to succinctly communicate their ideas with confidence. At the end of the semester long program, students presented their ideas in front of faculty and parents in an auditorium setting. Parents were amazed at the transformation of their children into highly polished public speakers. Students were much more self-confident and socially developed then when they started the course. The USA is a great opportunity for students that will positively affect them for the rest of their lives.

James Quinn
Superintendent of Schools, South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice

Bart came to the SC Dept of Juvenile Justice and volunteered to do multiple sessions with staff and students. Each of these sessions was a tremendous success and the students and the staff praised Bart and the work that he was doing to help the Agency. Bart’s volunteer time culminated in an agreement to come and work with a group of students at SCDJJ called the Blue Blazers. During this time, Bart had a profound impact on the lives of many, many children. There were children that looked me in the face and swore that the class had changed their lives. Bart’s commitment and skills have had an effect on the lives of children and adults that will continue to live on within the SCDJJ agency.
